The Faroe Islands

From Reykjavík airport, you can catch a flight to the archipelago of the Faroe Islands which is located some 450 miles south-east of Iceland. The archiplago consists of 18 major islands which are are mostly connected by bridges, by tunnels between islands, or by ferries. The capital of the Archipelago, Torshavn is located on Streymoy, the largest and most populated island. Other large islands are Eysturoy, Vágar and Sandoy. The total population of the islands is approximately 50.000 inhabitants. The Faroe Islands is a paradise for hikers and birdwatchers and for those who love outdoor activities and nature.
