A bike rental is operated from the swimming pool in Hallormsstaður in summertime. There are walking paths and trails in the forest area. Opening hours of the bike rental is from 10:00-12:00 and from 14:00-19:00 all days except Thusdays. The bikes can be rented for 4 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours or a week.

Nine Corsiva 430 boats are available, each boat accommodates maximum 6 persons. The boats are 4,3 meters long and have 4hp Selva outboard motors. The boats can be rented for one hour, minimum, to whole days. Petrol and lifejackets are included in the price. For the fishermen, it is also possible to hire fishings rods and hooks.

Papey is the largest island off the east coast of Iceland and is by some believed to be the first place to be settled in Iceland. Sea fowls, eider ducks and puffins occupy the island during the breeding season. Daily boat trips to Papey and angling cruises are operated from Djúpivogur, 2 ½ hours drive from Egilsstaðir. Time of operation is June 1st - August 31st.

Fljótsbátar offers horse riding tours from Hallormsstaður in summertime. The tours are for beginners as well as experience riders. Duration of tours on offer are one hour, two hours or day trips. The company also has a boat rental by the lake Lögurinn.

Horse riding tours are operated from Hotel Stadarborg. You can choose from one to two hours tours or longer.

Gæðinga Tours offer short horse riding tours from Útnyrðingsstaðir, only 7 km from Egilsstaðir.Tours of 1-2 hours are available from 15th of June to 15th of September

Trout fishing is available in the lake next to Hotel Staðarborg. Fishing permits are sold at the hotel.
