Main Sights East Iceland
Dyrfjöll is a majestic mountain with two steep peaks that you will see on your way to Borgarfjörður Eystri.
Hallormsstaður is Iceland´s largest woodland. Here you can find marked trails through the woods and in the autumn you can find an abundance of berries and mushrooms to pick.
Hengifoss is Iceland's second highest waterfall. It is only a short drive from Hallormsstaður.
Papey is the largest island off the east coast of Iceland. It has not been inhabited since 1966. Here you can a find a great variety of birdlife including puffins and there is a good chance you will spot seals on the nearby islands.
Skrúður is a small and steep island rising from the sea near Fáskrúðsfjörður. It thrives with birdlife and is also known for a cave were fishermen used to reside during the fishing season.
