Bird watching in Flatey Island on Skjalfandi Bay
Gentle Giants offers a unique bird watching tour to the island of Flatey, on the Skjalfandi Bay, from June 1st to August 10th. The boat sails from Húsavík, and the total duration of the tour is approximately 4-5 hours. Flatey island is rich in birdlife, with over 30 species in breeding season and in some occasions you can view the birds up close, such as the puffins and the arctic terns. After a guided visit to Flatey, you might see some whales on the way back to Húsavík.
Cave Exploration from Akureyri/Lake Mývatn
With the assistance of professional guides, you can explore the Lofthellir Lava Cave. This unique cave displays incredible ice sculptures and weird rock formations. The tour takes approximately 6-7 hours. Equipment such as helmets, headlights, rubber boots and gloves are provided to all participants.
Hike and Bike from Lake Myvatn
As the name indicates, Hike and Bike offers hiking and mountain biking tours in the Lake Myvatn area. There are various tours to choose from, such as 4-5 hours guided biking tours around the backcountry of the lake Myvatn area, evening Bike and Bath tour, to the Nature Baths of Myvatn, combo hike and bike tours and more. Tours are operated daily from 1st June until 31st of August.

Icelandic Horse-show at Flugumýri
At the Flugumýri farm, horse shows and a farm visit of approximately 1 - 1 1/2 hours are available. The Icelandic horse differs from other breeds. The host family will introduce the Icelandic horse and show you its five gaits. Coffee or tea and homemade biscuits and bread are included.
Mývatn Nature Baths
The Mývatn Nature Bath is a 5000m2 lagoon with geothermal water of a temperature of 38-40ºC containing a unique blend of minerals that have beneficial effects on the skin. Natural steam baths and hotpots are also available to the guests. There are changing rooms and showers for up to 120 guests, a cafeteria and a shop. The Nature Baths are open all year round, from 09:00 - 24:00 in summertime and from 12:00-22:00 in wintertime.
Rafting in Skagafjörður (close to Varmahlíð)
In the rivers Jökulsá Vestari and Jökulsá Austari, Arctic Rafting offers two rafting tours.
Jökulsá Vestari offers a shorter and easier tour. The river is at a 2+ difficulty rating out of a possible 5. Total duration of the trip is 3-4 hours, with 1-2 hours on the river.
Jökulsá Austari is a more demanding, action packed tour. The river difficulty is 4+ out of 5. The total duration of the trip is 6-7 hours, with 3-4 hours on the river.

Riding Tours from Grenivík
At Polar Hestar you can choose from one to two hours to half day tours. Professional riders will assist experienced and less experienced riders find the right horse for a most enjoyable ride.
Sea Angling Akureyri
Haffari offers daily Sea Angling tours from June 1st - August 31st at 12:00, 15:30 and 20:00 from the Old Harbor in Akureyri. The duration of the tour is approximately 3 hours. Reservations upon request are available in other periods.

Seal Watching from Hvammstangi
Selasigling in Hvammstangi village, offers boat trips around Miðfjörður and Húnaflói bay in the summertime. This tour gives an excellent opportunity to watch seals in their natural habitat. Seals are curious creatures. Even though they are wild, they are not afraid of humans which affords you an excellent photo opportunity.The tours takes between 2-3 hours and there are daily departures at 10:00 and 13:00.

Whales and Horses in Húsavík
Gentle Giants and Saltvik horse farm offer a combo tour of Whale watching and horse riding. From May 1st to October 15th you can take a 3 hours classical whale watching tour, followed by a 2 hours horse-riding tour in the vicinity of Húsavík. Experienced guides on sea and land are at your side. Hot chocolate and refreshment included as well as warm overalls.

Whale Watching and Sea-Angling from Dalvík
Bátaferðir at Dalvík,operate Whale Watching tours daily at 09:00,from 1st June until 31st August, and additional tours at 13:30,19:00 and a midnight tour leaving at 23:00 from 15th June until 15th July. On the tour, it is also possible to catch fish, observe birds as they sail around the island of Hrísey and at the end of the tour to sample tasty fresh fish. The most common whales seen are the humpback, minkewhales, dolphin and harbour porpoise.
