Hotel Edda Akureyri

Hotel Edda is used as a dorm for the University of Akureyri in the wintertime and converted into a hotel during the summer. The hotel boasts 204 rooms, of which 118 have private facilities, TV and telephone. The in-house restaurant offers à la carte and buffet options as well as special group menus. There is a small café in the lobby, and if whether permits, guests can sit outside on the terrace. Opening dates are from 11.June-24.August.
A comfortable geothermal heated outdoor swimming pool with hot tubs is next door and the botanical garden is close by. Walking to the center of Akureyri takes about five minutes.

Icelandair Hotel Akureyri

Icelandair Hotel Akureyri  opened in June 2011 and it is one of the newest hotels in the country. At the moment it features 63 rooms but more rooms will be opened in 2012. All rooms have private facilities. In winter, guests will have access to a special heated ski storage room. For those who wish to relax in a hot tub after a long day of sightseeing, the town´s thermal pool is only a two-minute walk from the hotel and is open year-round.
