Historical Tour of the Westmann Islands
Eagle Air offers daily tours to the Westmann Islands.
Westman Islands is one of the wonders of nature, surrounded by mountains, islands, volcanoes and seabirds.
A 20 minute´s flight from Reykjavík domestic airport takes you to the archipelago of the Westmann Islands. Upon arrival, you´ll embark on a guided coach tour of the island, which includes volcanic crater, still-warm lava and half-buried houses from the island´s infamous 1973 volcanic eruption. Northern Lights Hunt on sea with Special Tours
Special Tours offers you to join a Northern Lights hunt out on the North Atlantic Ocean, from Reykjavik´s Old Harbour. This tour is operated from 01 October – 31 March, on Thursday and Saturday nights at 21.00 and other nights upon request.
It takes about half an hour to reach an area sufficiently remote from the city lights, though the exact location will vary given the weather conditions. This might be out in the middle of Faxaflói bay in whale territory, or farther north in Hvalfjörður fjord where there might be more shelter from the wind and waves.. Expert guide will tell you all about the northern lights, the folklore and superstition, as well as explaining the underlying scientific facts that make this magical light show possible. Puffin Watching Tours
Special Tours offers Puffin Watching Tours that have been popular for over a decade. The Puffin Express adventure starts at the Old Harbour in Reykjavík and only takes one hour. The boat heads to Lundey and Akurey, two small islands located in the Reykjavík bay, only 15 minutes from the harbour. A licensed guide escorts the group. Birds spotted include puffins, Northern Fulmars, Gulls, Arctic Terns, and Black Guillemots. The tours are available from 1st May until 31st August.

River Rafting in Hvítá River
To spice up the Golden Circle tour and make it more adventurous, why not include a river rafting tour in Hvítá? Close to Geysir geothermal area, the river Hvítá runs through an amazing canyon, with fun rapids and a great optional cliff jump for the daredevils. After the rafting tour, showers and sauna are ready and waiting as well as soup and bread. The river difficulty is 2 out of 5 possible . The tours are availabe from 15th of April until 1st.October, weather permitting.
Sea-Angling with Elding
From early May until late August, Elding offers angling tours from Reykjavik Harbour. All the necessary equipment needed for fishing is provided as well as assistance by experienced guides. The catch is normally very good and the most commonly caught fish on our tours are cod, haddock, pollock and catfish.

Special Tours offers sea angling tours daily at 18:00 from 1 May to 30 August. Boats are also available for earlier departures and during the off season. The tours take aproximately 2.5 - 3 hours. The captain and guides are all skilled fishermen. Protective clothing is provided as well as all necessary equipment for the fishing. You can expect to catch cod, halibut, haddock, rockfish and pollock.
Whale Watching from Reykjavík 2 hours
Special Tours offers two hours whale watching tours from Reykjavik´s Old Harbour. Rósin, the tour boat, a fast cruiser, was built in 2009 and can accommodate 75 people. The tour passes Akurey and Lundey, inhabited by thousands of puffins. From there it takes only a short time to get to the whale habitat. Friendly guides and the captain point out where to spot the whales on the surface of the sea and give you interesting information about the different kinds of whales you can expect to see. Various tours are available each day, commencing at 10:00. The tours start in early April and are available until the end of October.

Whale Watching Húsavík and Lake Myvatn
