Main Sights West Fjords
Hornstrandir is a nature reserve popular for hiking because of the extreme remoteness of the region. It is only reachable by boat and there are no roads in large areas. Various tours of different length are offered there.
Dynjandi is a broad and tall waterfall situated in Arnarfjörður. It cascades some 60 meters down a mountainside. Many consider it one of the most impressive and beautiful waterfalls in Iceland.
Látrabjarg cliff is a 400 meters high cliff and Europe's farthest point to the west as well as Europe´s largest bird cliff. It is home to millions of birds making it one of the world´s biggest seabird colonies
Rauðisandur in the Látrabjarg area is a golden, reddish sand beach with views of Snæfellsjökull glacier. A small church and a café can be found in this remote area, along with seabirds and seals.
